In June 2019 I went to Uganda with a charity called Through The Roof. It was a "Wheels for the World" project where we distributed wheelchairs to refugees in Palorinya and Bidi Bidi refugee camps. The camps housed people who had fled the raging civil war in South Sudan.
All of the wheelchairs had been donated and refurbished, with solid tyres and balloon castor wheels for the rough terrain.
My job, in addition to being a "techie" to adjust and fit wheelchairs to the individual, was to document the undertaking. It was a very humbling and emotional experience. Looking forward to another trip when travel regulations allow.
